David Petraeus has fallen — but not as he should have. Before being disgraced by an extramarital affair, the retired four-star general and ex-CIA director should have been shamed out of public life for his horrendous military record in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Are we talking about the same David Petraeus who is said to have heroically saved Iraq with the famous surge and then salvaged a floundering military effort in Afghanistan?
That's the one. But those "accomplishments" are merely the products of sharp public relations.
The fact is that Petraeus presided over the brutal occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan, complete with torture, terrifying night raids, and violent sectarian cleansing. If Americans knew the truth — which the news media are uninterested in disclosing because it detracts from their narrative — they would not see heroism in David Petraeus. They would see the villainy of a man who carries out the orders of his imperial superiors and the ruthlessness with which the American empire treats whoever gets in its way.
EU Supports New Syrian Opposition Group
At the meeting of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels on November 19, a group of 27 European foreign ministers issued a statement that read: "The EU considers [the newly formed Syrian opposition coalition] legitimate representatives of the aspirations of the Syrian people." The statement said, "This agreement represents a major step towards the necessary unity of the Syrian opposition."

The UN's Local Agenda 21 program may already be in your local community, through your home town or city's membership in ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. Agenda 21 seeks for the government to curtail your freedom to travel as you please, own a gas-powered car, live in suburbs or rural areas, and raise a family. Furthermore, it would eliminate your private property rights through eminent domain. Agenda 21 can be stopped at the local level by organizing and informing others to encourage local government officials to end their community's membership in ICLEI and to repeal any of the Agenda 21-related "sustainable development" laws and ordinances they have enacted.

Book Review: "Barack Obama and the Enemies Within"

Legendary Determination

Political action is necessary, but it is insufficient. With political action you win some battles and lose others, but every victory motivates the opposition to fight twice as hard next time. Political action alone is frustrating and causes many activists to get discouraged and give up because it never fixes the root of the problem: an ill-informed electorate.
If you think about it, an informed electorate is more powerful than political parties, Big Media, or special interest money. A sufficiently informed electorate is the reason America has preserved as much freedom as we have, and an insufficiently informed electorate is the reason we've lost as much freedom as we have.
"Education is our total strategy and truth is our only weapon," said Robert Welch, who pioneered the modern Constitutionalist movement and designed a program that creates an informed electorate in any congressional district. To inform others, you must first inform yourself.
We The People have stewardship of our own freedom. What will we do with it? Preserve individual rights and national independence? Restore the Constitution? If Congress simply voted Constitutionally, the federal government would be 20% its size and 20% its cost. How's that for an economic stimulus package?
Why should you and I run for office?
County Sheriff, U.S. Congressman, Precinct Committeeman, State Senator, City Council, etc. Why should you and I lead our communities back to the Constitution? If we don't, who will? If we don't do it now, when should we start? If you don't know how to run for office, read this.
You might say I or Ron Paul should run for office, but not you. You know there's a separation of classes--the ruling class and the peasant class--and you are not part of the ruling class. If that's true, what does that make you?
Can I persuade you to rethink your hesitation; can I convince you to reject stereotypes; can I ask you to remember the principles this nation was founded on, such as: 'All men are created equal'?
Separation of classes today is voluntary; quit volunteering to be oppressed! Stand up and be heard! Or sit down, shut up, and lick the hands which feed you.
Here's how our system works: If you don't like the way your representatives are doing the job, you run against them and expose them. (And I know you don't like the way your representatives are doing the job.) Pick the one you like the least and run against them.
Why Should I Become a Public Servant?
It gives you a platform to promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy.
Remember how many people Ron Paul was able to wake up? Think about the momentum that is being created by hundreds of 'Ron Pauls' running for all levels of office all over the country so the public keeps hearing our message from more and more leaders who are challenging the establishment, exposing the failures of bureaucracy, offering solutions proven by America's history, etc.
As the economy continues to worsen, we need public servants who understand free market economics to lead us out of this mess. As abuses of power such as the recent MIAC report persist, we need courageous public servants who will boldly confront and challenge the wrongdoers, as was successfully done in this case, as well as prevent further abuses.
